RACEHORSE REHOMING: HEATHER

Rebecca Booth

Heather is a beautiful, classic-looking thoroughbred mare, She is 5 years old, bay/brown, no white and approximately 15.3hh. She no longer wants to be a racehorse, so despite his disappointment, her owner will honour this and she is being retired. Heather is the sort of mare that when she likes and trusts you, will do anything with you. She is a good communicator so you are never left guessing, She is like a fine wine and getting better with age and is sound. She is good with other horses.

One of her trackwork riders said, "she has a very soft mouth and prefers a polite hand to take a nice frame. She appreciates reassurance from her rider; given time, she'd be the kind of horse that would enjoy giving anything a go. I have really come to love her over the years, she has grown on me."

Heather would be a great allrounder and would have a go at anything. She will do better with variety to keep her mind engaged. I think if she loved doing something, she would be competitive. A vet check is welcome if you wish.

You will need to be someone I know or can be vouched for by someone I know, If that is not possible I would like to be able to chat to your vet or similar. You will need to meet her in person, I do not rehome sight unseen except in exceptional circumstances. You will need to be experienced in transitioning an off-the-track horse or have a suitable trainer to assist you.

I arrived at breakfast time to take the photos, so it was hard to get shots without her head down. In the first video, she is the brown looking one. Have a look at that trot.

Please complete an Expression of Interest Form if you are interested in Heather. If you have filled one out in the last 6 months, just let me know you are interested in meeting her

Location: Near Kembla Grange
