RACEHORSE REHOMING: ISAAC

Updated: Jan 13

UPDATE: Isaac has been rehomed to a fabulous home and will learn the art of showing. II know he will be loved and be awesome. I look forward to following his adventures.

Isaac will take your breath away from the first second you see him. He is about 16,1/16.2hh, chunky, liver chestnut, 5 years old and a gelding. He is very lightly raced with only 3 starts and is part of a stable that is very popular for OTT horses. Everybody loves Zak. He is considered easy in every aspect, with no known vices. He has a medium-length back so suited to a variety of riders. Isaac is by Bull Point and from Tale of the Cat lines on his mother's side.

Isaac has had the last year off due to a small, hairline fracture of his 3rd carpal bone, left front. He has been managed well during that time and was brought back into the stable to recommence his racing career. However, it has been decided that due to his chunkiness, the prognosis for racing is guarded and they will not risk him. He is not lame, I watched him trot on a hard surface, barefoot. When he is let into the round yard he has been letting off some steam and has had no heat, or swelling

He would be suited to trail riding, classical dressage, working equitation and is stunning enough to be a lovely show horse. No jumping, eventing or a home that does a lot of repetitive circles is advised. We believe he would do best in a home with a lot of variety in his work.

Isaac is cuddly, and really nice to be around. He is good with other horses. I have spoken at length to the vet who saw him 3 weeks ago and also have seen the vet report originally issued. Happy to chat about that information. A vet check is welcome if you wish to do one. He has the normal wear and tear of a horse that has been in racing work.

You will need to be experienced with retraining a racehorse or have an experienced person to guide you. He is a big, strong thoroughbred so not suited to a beginner. You will also need to be someone I know or can be vouched for by someone I know. If you would like more info or to meet him please fill in an EOI Form. If you have filled one in recently, just let me know if he is of interest.
