UPDATE: KS has been rehomed by his racing owners. I hope to catch up with him one day soon.
KS is an exceptionally striking, 4-year-old thoroughbred gelding. He is about 16.3hh with a shortish weight-bearing space. He is suited to small to medium, tallish, experienced, confident rider. His current trackwork riders say he is a comfortable ride with lovely paces but as a young horse, if something unexpected happens he reacts. They also say he is getting better at self-regulating as he matures. He could do anything but my gut tells me jumping or eventing may be the best match. He would also make a pretty good all-rounder and liberty horse.
He needs someone that is patient, confident and consistent and who is able to communicate effectively. We would be looking for someone who can set him up well for a lifetime of loving so, retrainers, professional/semi-professional riders or someone who will love him and has experience retraining an off-the-track thoroughbred In my opinion, I think restarting him is the way to go. He will need to be retrained on a float due to an accident and must be trucked to his new home. He qualifies for all OTTB competitions coming up, his last race was 22 June 23. He has only had 10 starts and is sound. To the best of my knowledge, he has no vices.
You must be someone I know, or vouched for by someone I know. You will need to come and meet him. Happy to help organise a vet check if you want to compete at a high level or have some peace of mind. Located in Kembla Grange.
In return, you will get a cuddly, loving boy who wants desperately to please but does not yet know how.
Please contact me for more information or to apply you need to fill in an EOI form.
