RACEHORSE REHOMING: NIKO

Updated: May 9

UPDATE: Nilo has been rehomed to a young woman who has some experience with OTTB's, I am excited for them both/

Niko is a 7-year-old chestnut gelding. He is on the smaller side, standing approximately 15.1hh, has had 25 starts, AND is drop-dead gorgeous.

He is very easy to manage and kind on the ground. Niko is well-behaved for the farrier, vet and dentist. He is with a trainer who floats his horses so he is used to an angle load, he is a good traveller. He sometimes flicks his head but he does not do it all of the time. His trackwork riders say he is a very calm and straightforward horse to ride with no nasties at all.

He is a roarer so not suited to top-level competition, eventing, jumping, barrel racing or other activities where maximum exertion is required for long periods. He would however do well in working equitation, trail riding, dressage, showing, farm work, adult riding club, liberty, potentially pony club in the future, and maybe even low level team sorting. He would be a fun all-rounder. He is not a beginner's horse. He is sound and an absolute sweetheart.

He is looking for someone to love and guide him through life as he transitions from racing to life after racing. Someone kind and patient who understands he will need time to adjust.

You will need to be someone I know or can be vouched for by someone I know and ideally be experienced with retraining and OTTB. If you have not transitioned a horse to life after racing you will need a coach or someone to help.

A vet check is welcome and feel free to ask any questions.

Location: Warwick Farm
