RACEHORSE REHOMING: RACHEL

Updated: Jun 13

UPDATE: Rachel has been rehomed to a trusted retrainer who will take their time to transition her from racehorse to an amazing horse in whatever discipline she is good at. I cannot wait to follow her story.

Rachel is an absolutely gorgeous thoroughbred mare. She is rising 4 years old, approx 16hh, is sound, and has a beautiful nature. I love hanging out with her and she is a favourite in the stable. She is considered quiet and easy to handle. Very lightly raced, only 2 trials and 2 race starts. They have decided to retire her because they do not feel she will cope with all the wet tracks and she does not show enough racing promise to wait for her. They have decided to let her go to a good home now.

Her track work rider said, "I have ridden her a fair bit, she's a lovely ride. She breaks the stereotype of a chestnut mare, very level-headed and a joy to ride. She has a naturally large stride too."

She has a nice body type that would suit most disciplines, I think she would be a lovely showjumper or eventer but would also be ideal for working equitation, dressage, trail riding, cattle work, liberty or anything else. Like most thoroughbreds, she would love some variety and is not a beginner's horse.

Ideally, you are someone I know or can be vouched for by someone I know. We are looking for a person who will take the time to retrain her quietly and kindly. A special partner who is looking for a horse for themselves with experience in retraining or has a good person to assist. I will need you to come and meet her so I can see you together unless I know you extremely well. A Vet check is welcome if you want.

If you are interested in Rachel please fill in the EOI form below. If you have filled in one recently just let me know you are interested in her,

Location: Kembla Grange

Thanks to Bradley Photo's for the racing pics
